Karisma Kapoor sheds light on her role as a judge on ‘India’s Best Dancer – Season 4’

‘India’s Best Dancer’, on Sony Entertainment Television, has set a new standard of dance on reality shows, inspiring a wave of extraordinary performers to perform on this grand stage. Promising a captivating journey of extraordinary talent and electrifying dance moves the fourth season of the much-cherished dance reality show urges viewers, ‘Jab Dil Kare Dance Kar!’ Heightening the glamour quotient is Bollywood’s dancing diva, Karisma Kapoor who takes on the role as a judge. And, joining her in this journey are Terence Lewis, and Geeta Kapur, who reprise their role as judges this season. Here is Karisma shedding light on her role as the ‘Entertainment Specialist’ on the show.
- This is the first time viewers will see you as a full time judge, what made you say ‘yes’ to the show?
I have been a part of several dance reality shows over the years but always preferred being a part of special episodes where I get to have a good time. I always believed that being a full-time judge is a huge commitment however, things changed with ‘India’s Best Dancer.’ In one of the previous episodes of the season, I had appeared as a special judge and what stayed with me is the show’s energy and ethos. And this was one of the prime reasons I decided to be a part of the show as a judge. Also, through India’s Best Dancer, I am eager to witness the growth of these young and talented dancers as it reminds me of the time I started my career and tried different dance forms. I’ve had a great journey with dance in my career and it’s something that I’ve always loved. I am really blown away with the kind of talent the show has to offer and hope the viewers shower their full support to our incredible talent.
- What is your criteria as a judge?
As a judge this season, I am thrilled to witness the evolution of dance styles and the boundless creativity of our contestants. This platform not only celebrates talent but also fosters a spirit of innovation and perseverance among participants. I am eager to embark on this journey alongside Terence and Geeta, where we aim to inspire, empower, and elevate each dancer’s performance to new heights.
- Can you talk about your camaraderie with your fellow judges Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis?
Joining the judges panel alongside Geeta and Terence has been fun and enriching. I’ve known both of them individually for many years and have worked with Geeta as well in the past. I am enjoying this experience as they are not only experts in the field of dancing but also add their quirky elements to the show which I thoroughly enjoy.
- Any message for the fans and viewers of the show?
The pool of talent India’s Best Dancer has to offer in its fourth edition is unbelievable! With great energy and vigour, the contestants are sure to leave a mark on the viewers. The stakes are high and I hope the viewers keep loving the show as it is their love that has brought us back for season 4.
