Chandigarh : An Expert lecture series is started by the Centre for the Study of Social Inclusion (CSSI) Panjab University, Chandigarh on the Topic “The Use of Sampling Techniques in Social Science Research” under the Speaker Prof. Gulshan Kumar, an eminent scholar of Economics, Department of UILS under the supervision of Prof.Virender Kumar Negi. The Welcome address was given by Dr. Kanchan Chandan, Faculty, CSSI, Panjab University.  Prof. Gulshan Kumar explained that social science research plays a vital role in documenting disparities and advocating for policy changes that could enhance inclusion. The expert emphasized the significance of choosing appropriate sampling techniques based on research objectives, population characteristics, and resource availability. By understanding and applying these methods, researchers can enhance the quality and impact of their studies in the field of social science. The deliberation also focused on the importance of social science research in addressing the complexities of minority experiences in India. By critically examining historical contexts and current policies, and usage of appropriate research techniques we can better advocate for meaningful change and inclusivity in our society.  Prof. Virender Kumar, Director CSSEIP extended the vote of thanks and concluded that lecture by sharing his views about the issues which are very important for the society  Prof. Virender Kumar Negi CSSI Director.
