Kolkata gangrape: Fortis Mohali doctors join IMA protest call
Dr Swapna Misra, Director, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Fortis Mohali, said, “The incident has shaken the conscience of the society and is an eye-opener. Women should feel safe at the workplace. The perpetrators of the crime should be brought to book.” Talking on similar lines,
Dr Vikramjit Dhaliwal, Medical Director of the facility, said, “The medical fraternity condemns the incident. We’ve joined the protest call to render our support.” Meanwhile, senior management officials and senior doctors were also present on the occasion.
Anita Sharma, Head, Lab Medicine, said, “The safety of healthcare workers is paramount in hospitals given that women are the predominant workforce . At Fortis, we are very sensitive to this fact and exercise zero tolerance towards gender-related workplace violence . We have strong processes & SOPs like CCTV surveillance, POSH committee, and a disciplined security team to ensure the safety of our colleagues.”
