The Rishi Brothers T20 Open Chandigarh Cricket Tournament Season 2, powered by ZSports, was inaugurated on Thursday at the Saketri Cricket Ground in Kaimbwala. The tournament was officially launched by Sanjay Tandon, President of the UT Cricket Association (UTCA). The event organizers, renowned actors and directors from the film industry, Sachin Rishi and Rajeev Rishi, joined Sanjay Tandon in meeting the players participating in the tournament, wishing them bright futures.
Organizers Sachin and Rajeev Rishi expressed their commitment to the tournament, stating, “We initiated this tournament to develop cricket in Chandigarh and provide a better platform for players. Our aim is to encourage young talent and offer them opportunities to establish themselves on national and international platforms. We are grateful to all sponsors and players for their support in making this event a success.”
In his address, Sanjay Tandon emphasized the importance of such tournaments in cities like Chandigarh, saying, “These events play a vital role in boosting players’ confidence and enhancing their skills. They provide an opportunity to compete in a professional environment. In the match held on Thursday, B Eleven defeated Century Academy by 3 wickets. After winning the toss, B Eleven opted to bowl first. Century Academy set a target of 137 runs for 7 wickets. In response, B Eleven successfully chased the target with 3 wickets in hand. Rohit Danu from B Eleven was declared Man of the Match for his excellent performance.
The tournament features a total of eight teams, including several experienced players who have participated in Ranji Trophy and IPL matches. The event will conclude on December 15, with the winning team receiving a cash prize of ₹1,00,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up will be awarded ₹50,000 and a trophy.
