People are extremely reliant on mobile phones, tablets, computers, and laptops in this technologically advanced era, yet while improved technology aids human development, excessive screen time is proving to be an issue for many.

Doctors believe that those who spend too much time staring at devices have a higher risk of developing impaired vision than those who limit their daily screen time. People with poor vision typically have difficulty doing day-to-day tasks, so it’s best to seek help as soon as possible.

Here are some indicators to look out for that indicate you should have your vision or eyesight evaluated by a doctor.

1. Blurred close-up vision: If things close to you appear blurry, or you have trouble reading books or using your phone clearly, you may have farsightedness or hyperopia.

2. Astigmatism is a vision condition that causes difficulty seeing objects up close and at a distance.

3. Nearsightedness or myopia: If you can’t see items that are far away clearly, you may have myopia or nearsightedness.

4. Frequent headaches: Frequent headaches are linked to blurred vision or eye sight difficulties, so keep an eye on this common symptom.

5. Difficulty seeing at night: Another symptom that clearly suggests that you have a vision problem is difficulty seeing at night.

6. Difficulty shifting from light to dark or vice versa: When you enter a dark room after visiting a bright environment, you may find that you are unable to see the objects well. This is a significant concern that requires medical attention.

7. Double vision: When you see two images of the same item, this is known as double vision. Diplopia is the medical term for this condition.

8. Eye pain: Eye pain or exhaustion is a symptom of a vision impairment, so see a doctor to see whether you need glasses.

9. Watery eyes: If water comes out of your eyes regularly when doing daily duties, such as reading, watching TV, or talking on the phone, it’s time to see a doctor.

10. Halos around lights: Halos are rings or bright circles that appear around lights, especially at night. Another indicator of weak vision is this.
