Investors made aware on investing wisely

Citizen Awareness Group (CAG) under the aegis of Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Association with Chandigarh-Panchkula-Mohali Chapter of Cost Accountants, Chandigarh organized seminar on the topic “Investor Awareness and Role of SEBI” at Hotel Turquoise, Chandigarh here today.

Gulshan Kumar–Chairman Professional development Committee of Chapter, started the program with welcoming all the members. Chairman Chandigarh-Panchkula-Mohali chapter of Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), Sanjay Singh in his chairman speech appraised the members about the various professional development activities undertaken by the Chapter. Further he appraised the members that due to untiring efforts of the committee, Northern India regional Council of ICMAI awarded the Best Chapter award 2023-24 to this chapter for 3rd position in “A” category. He also informed ensuing programs of chapter in the near future.

Chairman, Citizen Awareness Group Surinder Verma provided insight about their organization, purpose of conducting such kind of programs and insight about the contents of the today program. He gave detailed information on how to make wealth from stock markets through latest technological advancements and explained how mobile apps have become popular in trading and emphasized on the challenges of technology adoption and ways to overcome them.

He also brought out the risks posed by technology such as data theft, irregularities etc. which led to losses, but proper use of technology can bring benefits in the long run. He said that there is a lack of Awareness related to Stock market among Investors. There is a lack of information which ultimately led to wrong decisions due to lack of information. Therefore, the role of such platforms is to help Investors deal with such situations

Ms. Himani Lath –SEBI Smart trainer gave an excellent presentation on the topic and covered most of the burning issues of share markets. She also emphasized on the precautions to be taken while investing in any scheme. She made the members satisfied with the queries raised by them. She covered the topic of financial well-being and stressed upon the importance of retirement planning and securing the future by creating wealth. She also explained about various investment avenues like stocks, mutual funds, SGB etc.

The program was well attended by more than 50 members. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the Vice chairman of the chapter CMA Mukesh Pandey.
