AIPL DreamCity Ludhiana To Plant over 1000 trees in the township by this monsoon Plantation Drive initiated on World Environment Day with `Green Man of India’ IRS Officer Rohit Mehra

Continuing its commitment towards making the Earth a greener planet, AIPL DreamCity Ludhiana has started a drive to plant over 1000 trees at its 500 + acre township. The plantation drive, which was started on World Environment Day, will culminate by the start of the monsoon this year.
The plantation drive was launched by `Green Man of India’ IRS Officer Rohit Mehra and will see faster growing tree varieties like poplar being planted, in addition to Neem, Peepal, Jamun etc which have a long life span and which are good for the overall environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Hemant Gupta, President Sales AIPL Punjab said: “Today’s plantation drive sees us continuing our efforts towards ensuring a healthier life to the people of Ludhiana. This is our endeavour to bring colour to the otherwise drab Ludhiana skyline, in addition to reiterating our continuing Trees of Joy campaign.’’
Speaking at the plantation drive `Green Man of India’ IRS Officer Rohit Mehra said: “I am so happy to see the `green and lively’ AIPL DreamCity Ludhiana. The township is very environmentally friendly and is a treat to find in the otherwise bare Ludhiana.’’
World Environment Day is an annual global event observed on June 5. This year marks the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day. The day encourages awareness and action for environmental protection by the global community. The Day is the United Nations outreach day for encouraging worldwide awareness and supporting the environment.
This year, the theme of World Environment Day will focus on solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign #BeatPlasticPollution.
