Women, according to press reports, have a larger risk of stiff neck than males. In 2010, more than 17% of women and more than 12% of men reported having neck pain of some kind. This discomfort is worse because it can become intense and disrupt your everyday activities as well as your sleep.

The increasing usage of mobile phones and computers by teens and adults is one of the reasons for stiff neck. People unintentionally linger in awkward positions while using phones due to their use of devices. In fact, the most prevalent cause of neck strain is staring at your phone, laptop, or other gadget for long periods of time. The muscles in your neck are strained, and the soft tissues in your neck are damaged as a result of your hunched position.

There is a type of stretching that will help you obtain relief from the pain described below:

· Stretches, according to medical specialists, include:

· Back and forth with your shoulders.

· On either side, slowly move your ear to your shoulder.

· Slowly turn your head from side to side.

Additional measures that can be used as remedies include:

· Massage – Make it a habit to massage your neck with a good nutritional oil that contains natural components on a regular basis.

· Apply heat or cold to the affected area- If you have swelling in your neck or lower back, you can use a cold compressor or a heating pad, depending on the situation.

· Regular exercise, such as stretching for 10-15 minutes in the morning, will help you avoid this pain in the future.

· Reduce stress- Make sure you’re not under a lot of pressure because it can hurt your muscles and bones. When we’re stressed, we don’t realize where we’re sitting, which can lead to stiffness.

· To avoid this problem in the future, you must adjust some sleeping patterns in addition to stretching. These sleeping patterns will provide relief from a stiff neck even if you are in discomfort. Changes that must be made:

· The firmness of your mattress is important.

· When sleeping, you should utilize a neck pillow.

· Lie down on your back or side.

· Before going to bed, do a little relaxation exercise.
