Apart from Social, Cultural, and Religious Programs, the Foundation Will Also Work to Solve Public Issues: Raman Handa
The foundation will focus on setting up de-addiction centers, providing free medical aid, promoting education as a fundamental right among the underprivileged, running women empowerment programs, building animal shelters, promoting cultural, social, and religious activities, and addressing issues like waterlogging, sewage, and power cuts.
Zirakpur: A newly established organization, the Raman Handa Foundation, is set to launch several unique initiatives in the field of public welfare—areas that have so far remained largely untouched. This was stated by young social worker Raman Handa, who initiated this movement by organizing a grand community feast at night.
A large event was held at Metro Promenade, located near Bollywood Heights-2 in Peer Muchalla, Zirakpur, where 1,100 packed food boxes were distributed to the needy, laborers, and their families. Unlike typical events that feature religious hymns, this ceremony featured patriotic and inspirational songs, offering a refreshing approach.
The event was graced by renowned Bollywood personalities such as Sneha Ullal (famous for Lucky with Salman Khan), Lakshmi Rai (from Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa), former BCCI Treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry, and well-known socialite Shikha Begwani, adding a special charm to the event.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raman Handa told reporters that the involvement of such celebrities helps in raising awareness and encourages more people to participate in social transformation.
He emphasized that his commitment goes beyond charity, aiming for long-term solutions and creating a better environment for all. The foundation will work in several key areas, including:
- Establishment of de-addiction centers to support individuals battling substance abuse.
- Free medical assistance to the most vulnerable sections of society.
- Promotion of education as a fundamental right among the underprivileged, helping them become part of the country’s progress.
- Women empowerment programs to make women self-reliant and ensure equal opportunities.
- Animal shelters for the care and protection of stray and abandoned animals.
- Promotion of cultural and religious values to maintain social harmony.
- Addressing civic issues like waterlogging, sewage problems, and power outages through awareness and sustainable solutions.
Founder Raman Handa stated that this is not just an effort to seek help, but a call to unite all citizens to improve their surroundings. True change is only possible when society collectively takes responsibility for resolving its issues.
Through this event, the foundation aimed to familiarize local citizens, dignitaries, and volunteers with its plans, giving participants an opportunity to interact with the team, learn about ongoing projects, and contribute to them.
