Congress meeting held at Congress Bhawan, Sector 35 Chandigarh under the leadership of Harish Chaudhary, General Secretary

Chandigarh:  Chandigarh Congress is going to intensify its agitational programs in the coming days against anti-people and anti-constitution actions of Modi government, which are weakening the country with every passing day.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of senior party activists held at Congress Bhawan, Sector 35 Chandigarh under the leadership of Harish Chaudhary, General Secretary, All India Congress Committee. Harmohinder Singh Lucky, President Chandigarh Congress presided over.

It was unanimously resolved in the meeting that the Chandigarh Congress will organize a series of protest marches and Dharnas during the next 30 days in various parts of the city to highlight the complete failure of Narendra Modi government in reigning in the galloping inflation in the country. The first of such protest marches shall be held in Mauli Jagran tomorrow. The local leadership of the party and the active workers alongwith the residents of the area have been mobilized to ensure that the voice of the ordinary people reaches the callous government, loud and clear.

Further, the congress leaders uneqivocally condemned the Enforcement Directorate for harrassing the Congress leaders for political reasons and it was decided that the party shall hold a massive protest march on 21 July 2022 to show its dissapproval of unwarranted and unnecessary summoning of Sonia Gandhi, the acting President of the Congress party. The part workers shall begin their march towards office of the Enforcement Directorate in sector 18 Chandigarh to coincide with the time when the Congress president reaches the ED office in New Delhi.

The leaders also noted with appreciation that due to the glorious freedom struggle and subsequent Nation building endeavors under the leadership of Congress Pary, the country has entered 75th year of its independence. leadership. To commemorate this achievement, the Chandigarh Congress shall hold rallies in different parts of the city for a week, beginning from 09 August, 2022, the quit India movement day, covering 75 kilometers. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Chaudhary, General Secretary AICC said that this is ironical for the country that those who did not participate in the freedom struggle are giving sermons in Nationalism and those who made huge sacrifices to bring freedom are being hounded and harrassed by the current government.

Finally, it was decided that Chandigarh Congress will participate in Rahul Gandhi led 3500 kilometer long Bharat Jodo Yatra, as it reaches near Chandigarh. The idea of Bharat Jodo Yatra was conceived during the recent Chintan shivir in Udaipur to unite the country in the face of divisive policies of Modi government.
